How to Reach Parma
By Plane
Parma can be reached through Parma Giuseppe Verdi Airport (PMF) and, for a wider choice of domestic and international flights, through Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ), Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP), Milan Linate Airport (LIN), and Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport (BGY).
Parma Airport (PMF) is the closest airport to the city. Local public transport and taxis connect the airport with Parma railway station and the city centre.
For international visitors, Bologna, Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate and Bergamo Orio al Serio are generally the most convenient airports.
Bologna Airport
Take the Marconi Express to Bologna Centrale railway station, then take a train to Parma. The journey from Bologna Centrale to Parma takes approximately one hour.
Milan Airports
From Malpensa, take the Malpensa Express to Milano Centrale. From Linate, take an airport shuttle or local transport to Milano Centrale. From Milano Centrale, continue to Parma by train.
Bergamo Airport
From Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport, take an airport bus to Milano Centrale railway station and continue to Parma by train.
By Train
Parma Centrale railway station is connected to major Italian cities, including Bologna, Milan, Florence, Rome, Turin and Venice, by regional, Intercity and high-speed train services.
Train timetables and tickets are available from Trenitalia and Italo.
By Car
Parma can be reached from the A1 Milan–Bologna motorway, exit Parma, and from the A15 Parma–La Spezia motorway. From the motorway exit, follow signs for Campus Universitario, Langhirano or Parco Area delle Scienze.
Parking areas are available on the University Campus. Visitors are advised to check availability and possible access restrictions before travelling.
From Parma City Centre to the University Campus

The University Campus is connected to Parma city centre by TEP local buses. Lines 7 and 21 serve the University Campus / Parco Area delle Scienze area.
