Andrea Maranzoni was born on 22 July 1973 in San Secondo Parmense (Parma).
In 2000 he graduated with honors in Civil Engineering at the University of Parma with a thesis entitled: "Numerical simulation and experimental verification of rapid release phenomena in closed ducts" (supervisor: Prof. Ing. Paolo Mignosa ).
In 2004, again at the University of Parma, he obtained a PhD in Civil Engineering (curriculum Hydraulic protection of the territory) with a dissertation entitled: "Numerical and physical modeling of two-dimensional free-range motions" (tutor : Prof. Ing. Paolo Mignosa).
In 2004 he was the holder of a grant for collaboration in the research activity in the Scientific-Disciplinary Sector ICAR/02 on the topic: "Numerical and physical modeling of two-dimensional free-range motions in the presence of shocks" at the Faculty of Engineering of 'University of Parma.
From 10 January 2005 to 15 December 2008 he was a University Researcher in the Scientific-Disciplinary Sector ICAR/02 “Hydraulic and Maritime Construction and Hydrology” at the University of Brescia.
He is confirmed in the role of University Researchers starting from 10 January 2008.
From 16 December 2008 he was transferred as a university researcher in the scientific-disciplinary sector ICAR/01 “Hydraulics” at the University of Parma and belongs to the Department of Civil, Environmental, Territory and Architecture Engineering (DICATeA) of the same University.
He has been enrolled in the register of the Order of Engineers of the province of Parma since 2000.
